The Ragdoll cat is called a Ragdoll because when you pick them up they go limp in your arms. Not all Ragdoll's do this. It's because of their very docile personalities. The Ragdoll has amazingly soft fur, it almost feels like rabbit fur. Their fur is also non matting and they are mild shedders. Ragdoll's are very intelligent and can be easily voice trained. Their "meows" are soft and almost sound like a chirping. Neutered males can weigh anywhere from 15-20lbs, Spayed females about 5 pounds less. Ragdoll's do not reach their full body size and coat color till about 3 years of age.

Ragdoll's are very co-dependant and shouldn't be left alone all day. They will follow you from room to room and sometimes flop at your feet.

The Ragdoll cat is really an incredible animal. They are worth the wait. They have added so much love and happiness in my life and can do the same for you.

*Ragdoll's have been described to me by their owners as co dependent.

*Ragdoll's can relax completely or go limp in your arms if they so desire. They will only do this after they are very comfortable with you.

*Ragdoll's love for you to hug, hold and handle them a lot.

*Ragdoll's are very loyal and like to be with you and share in what you are doing.

*Ragdoll owners usually say their cats have puppy like traits.

*Ragdoll's are very smart and sometimes can be taught to fetch, shake hands, roll over and sit up and beg.

*Ragdoll's love to play and are not destructive, their voice is very quiet with soft meows.

*Ragdoll's must be kept indoors, because they do not inherently have fighting instincts.

*Ragdoll's are very patient with children, and other existing dogs and cats, they make themselves quite at home.
